Shubhankar Suman Singh obtained his Ph.D. in computer science from the IIT Delhi in 2021, and a B.Tech in computer science from IIT Delhi in 2016. Arun is involved in the seamless transition of complex customer sites from the legacy DMF6 framework to the newer multi-domain DMF stack. I was involved in achieving a full system switch with billions of objects and petabytes of existing data. We achieved this without any physical data movement and full format compatibility at sites like Univ of Queensland, CINES etc. I am also tasked with examining a distributed metric analytics framework for extracting system-level data movement details with fine granularity and identify key bottlenecks in the upcoming petascale systems. He was also involved in the design and development of our distributed data management solution DMF. My focus was on the scalability across massive storage tiers at critical HPC sites and design a systems-integrated approach towards data movement. I was also tasked with looking at object count scaling at petascale level systems and design solutions using open stacks like ACE/TAO, Boost, PostgreSQL, etc ..

Prashanthi is currently a PhD student at the Distributed Research on Emerging Applications and Machines Lab (DREAM: Lab), IISc. Led the development of the Kernel LAPI - zero copy transport protocol for the GPFS file system. Led the Unix Architecture and Design team and council at IBM. He was a Technical Lead for the HPC software team for IBM's supercomputers. I am a researcher at Microsoft Research India. My interests are mainly in solving problems related to Networking and Distributed Systems. I work on improving systems via machine-learning and other data-driven techniques. I have been working on applying data-driven techniques to improve system and network efficiency in large Cloud services. I work in the intersection of Computational Learning Theory and Computational Modeling and apply new insights and theory in Astronomy, Scientometrics, Finance and Healthcare. Classical problems in astronomy now involve the accumulation of large volumes of complex data with different formats and characteristic and cannot now be addressed using classical techniques. As a result, machine learning algorithms and data analytic techniques have exploded in importance, often without a mature understanding of the pitfalls in such studies. I lead the effort along with a handful of researchers in India and abroad. We plan to capture the baseline, set the tempo for future research in India and abroad and prepared a scholastic primer that would serve as a standard document for future research. We have been able to serve two specific objectives: (1) develop efficient models for complex computer experiments and data analytic techniques which can be used in astronomical data analysis in short term and various related branches in physical, statistical, computational sciences much later (larger goal as far as memetic algorithms and related techniques in computational intelligence are concerned) and (2) develop a set of fundamentally correct thumb rules and experiments, backed by solid mathematical theory and render the marriage of astronomy and Machine Learning stability and far reaching impact. In particular, I have done this in the context of specific science problems of interest to the community: the classification of exoplanets, classification of nova, separation of stars, galaxies and quasars in the survey catalogs, and the classification of multi-wavelength sources. My work has been recognized in peer reviewed international forums.
